Three brothers, the sons of a fisherman, are too stubborn and repressed to talk about their problems, which only makes them worse. They are about to lose De Broodwinner (“The Breadwinner”), their dying father’s fishing boat.
A few artificial subplots and too many clichéd themes will prevent Cargo from breaking through to the A-list festivals. Nevertheless, the feature film debut of Gilles Coulier – a West-Fleming with great faith in the power of cinema – has character and a certain rugged beauty.
