After the attack on the Jewish Museum in 2014, Brussels locals start dancing in the street like maniacs. Just like in Molenbeek in 1564, when a dancing plague broke out.

Hamsters, filmed on a shoestring budget but with tremendous artistic passion, demonstrates that the Marolles, and especially the area around the dilapidated social housing tower block on rue des Brigittines, makes for a very cinematic backdrop. This anarchist urban film is occasionally slightly affected, but also offers pure cinematic poetry.
