Between all the animated mayhem of Trolls and Sausage Party, Ma vie de Courgette hardly gets a look-in, and yet this stop-motion film is certainly the darling of the week.

Courgette is a young boy who regularly gets beaten by his alcoholic mother. She dies in a tragic accident, so Courgette is sent to an orphanage. In what follows, Ma vie de Courgette does not rock you to sleep on a bed of roses, but delivers a message of resilience, solidarity, and friendship. More heart-warming than the best autumn soup.
