If you change the train timetable in Brussels and if there is more buffer time, more trains will be on time. This is the conclusion of the study of doctoral candidate Sofie Burggraeve at KU Leuven. Burggraeve has come up with a new schedule, allowing a 17% gain on the north-south axis. She focuses on Brussels, since the route between Brussels-North and Brussels-South is the cause of most delays on the Belgian railway network
