New cocktail bar: LIB

Time to try out a newcomer to the Brussels cocktail-bar scene, as it will remain open throughout the month of August: LIB, which stands for "Life Is Beautiful".

Maybe "newcomer" isn't really the right word, as LIB is a nomadic bar concept that has already won its spurs at, for example, Amerikaansestraat 122 rue Américaine. It has now moved permanently to rue Antoine Dansaertstraat. The emphasis is on homemade: as far as possible, LIB uses cordials, infusions, juices, etc. that are made on the spot. Behind the counter one finds Harouna Saou, an excellent bartender who concocts fine creations such as a citronella and basil mojito, a Celery Smash based on Chartreuse, and It's Complicated, a cocktail that mixes vodka, Aperol, cucumber, lime, prosecco, orange cordial, tonic, and bitter. The place also offers an extensive range of whiskies and delicious finger food to go with your tipple.
