Rebel Up! Soundclash was founded ten years ago with the mission to bring more contemporary world music and ethnic urban sounds to the dance floor.

Founder Seb Bassleer brought together kindred spirits Bram De Cock aka DJ LeBlanc from Brussels and Robert Kroos of Duckfood from the Netherlands, and organised parties with other invited DJs and often even VJs to illustrate the global sound clash visually.

In Recyclart Rebel Up! found an eager host for their global street sounds. They are programmed there regularly during Recyclart Holidays and they are the resident DJs of the Nightshop parties. So it makes sense that this is also where they will celebrate their tenth birthday. And they are certainly doing it in style, with international live bands and an array of local DJs.

Octa Push from Lisbon is a project launched by two brothers of Afro-Portuguese heritage in the tradition of Buraka Som Sistema, but with less heavy electronic noise and more traditional roots. The young Turkish-German singer Derya Yildirim and her Grup Simsek will present the sound of Turkish pop, rock, and psychedelia from the 1970s along with their progressive socio-political message.

Producer Ibaaku from Dakar blends his roots with Afro-futuristic beats, while an army of DJs from Lowup, Global Hybrid, Drache Musicale, Tropical Boobs, Muevelo, Burakete, Dovecake, Gaetano Dub, and of course Rebel Up! will swap places in the hall, and in the toilets!
