Mixity, German expats in Brussels and architecture. Listen back to the reports from this week's show

Hello Mixity
Even before the arrival of the European institutions and NATO, Brussels was known as the crossroads of Europe. Now it is the most cosmopolitan city in Europe and the second most cosmopolitan city in the world with residents from 183 countries. The city’s new Mixity Brussels 2017 initiative is a year-long celebration of all this diversity. This weekend's free music festival Hello Mixity featuring 120 artists of 20 nationalities singing in 10 languages on two open-air stages is a snapshot of what's in store.

Europe in Brussels: Germany
3 October is Germany's national day, making the country's reunification following the collapse of the Berlin wall. We meet Germany's ambassador in Belgium and a German expat to find out about the German presence in Brussels.

Brussels Biennale of Modern Architecture
The second edition of the Brussels Biennale of Modern Architecture is highlighting post World War II architecture. Each Saturday in October guided interior tours and bike tours will be offered with a different theme each weekend: Gardens, the North South Junction, Office Buildings, School and University Campuses, Urban Houses and Apartments, and Suburban Houses. Each bike tour will include at least one interior visit. Tours will be available in Dutch, English and French. Tuesdays October 11 and 18 short films of the 50's, 60's and 70's will be screened. There will also be a lecture on Tuesday October 4 by Sven Sterken, PhD which will provide an historical overview of the period.

Tatiana Wolska: Nowhere Beyond
After graduating from Villa Arson in Nice, Polish artist Tatiana Wolska has shown her work in various shows winning the Grand Prix du Salon de Montrouge in 2014 and exposing a mammoth sculpture of 25 meters at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. Now an expat living and working in Brussels she has a show at the Irène Laub Gallery with her guest artist Jerôme Robbe. She explains how she works 'in the contrary sense" using only found materials such as plastic bottles, scrap wood and pieces of abandoned furniture.
