The Founder, a film about the origins of McDonald's, wasn't sponsored by the ubiquitous fast food chain because it doesn't make great advertising.

Unless you share the worldview of people like Donald Trump, Gordon Gekko, or one of the wolves of Wall Street who think that all capitalists have a divine right to let nothing stand in the way of building an empire. These types of people are undoubtedly big fans of Ray Kroc (an eager Michael Keaton).

This milkshake machine salesman saw a golden opportunity in the idea of two brothers, Dick and Mac McDonald, to organise a restaurant in such a way that you could serve cheap hamburgers incredibly quickly. He convinced them to start a franchise, and when he saw his chance to steal their name and concept, he didn't hesitate.

John Lee Hancock (Saving Mr. Banks) avoids pointed criticism or political analysis and doesn't do anything amazing stylistically either, but he is certainly competent enough to sell this very American story.
