A young surfer dies, but thanks to a heart transplant, a mother is able to live.
Director Katell Quillévéré takes the good ideas from the moving book by Maylis de Kerangal without turning this film into an illustration of its source material.
The first ten minutes are the finest in the whole film and barely a word is said. Sensitive, restrained performances and skilful cinematography of the night and of dusk and dawn all contribute to a beautiful polyphony. Hearty.
