George Condo at Charles Riva Collection: dark twisted realism

With a past in the Boston and New York punk scenes, Artificial Realism, the silkscreen studio of Andy Warhol’s Factory, and with friends like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, William Burroughs, and Gilles Deleuze, the New York-based artist George Condo seems like a hot-blooded spark in the history of art.

But you only have to ask Kanye West what he thought of the album cover for his masterpiece My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy to realize that the spark still shines just as brightly as ever. The painter, draughtsman, sculptor, and printmaker is presenting recent work at Charles Riva Collection.
