To say that this event is deeply current would be ridiculous because the Palestinian issue has been topical for the past seventy years. But following the recent abuses of power in Gaza, this literary evening has extra significance.

Three Palestinian authors will read from their own work and discuss the influence that the mutilation of their homeland has had on their personal and artistic lives. Poet Mourid Barghouti, who was born near Ramallah but lived in exile between 1967 and 1996. Selma Dabbagh, the London-born daughter of a Palestinian father, who wrote the award-winning novel Out of It. And the novelist and literary scholar Karim Kattan, who lives in Bethlehem and Paris.
