1615 Dora Benyo Maria Krisztina Nagy When Bread Falls on the Buttered Side
When Bread Falls on the Buttered Side

Murphy’s law states that “anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.” Sagacity in Molenbeek is recklessly immersing itself in the adage with “When Bread Falls on the Buttered Side”.

In this exhibition, Dóra Benyó and Mária-Krisztina Nagy, two fine arts alumni from Sint-Lukas Brussels, are exploring the notions of chance, control, powerlessness, and our capacity of adaptation to the unforeseeable. Dóra Benyó does so by using video and installations to create a context in which improvisation can play. In her paintings, drawings, and collages, Mária-Krisztina Nagy evokes the interaction between the emptiness of abandoned landscapes and the possibility of magic.
