Baltasar Kormákur had already demonstrated that he could adeptly film water scenes and the violence of nature in The Deep and Everest. Unfortunately, he opted to water down this true story with the gooey background story of the romance between the couple of adventurers and he can’t make up for it completely with the sunsets, awe-inspiring waves, and weathered faces.
