'Sunset': an immersive cinematographic experience

Onze score

Budapest, 1913, and the young Írisz has a feverish urge to solve a number of mysteries.

Neither she nor the viewer ever gain deeper insight into the conspiracies, murders, attacks, and revolutionary atmosphere that grip the city, but the climate is so suffused with impending doom that it comes as no surprise when the First World War breaks out.

Both the story and the history lesson play second fiddle to the immersive cinematographic experience. László Nemes proves that Son of Saul was not just a fluke.
