Arab humour from the smartest man on Facebook

This week, Passa Porta and Lagrange Points, a new Brussels-based collective that aims to showcase the diversity of Arab culture and literature, are welcoming the smartest man on Facebook.

Not Zuck, but the Syrian Aboud Saeed, who caused a sensation between 2011 and 2013 with his Facebook posts that showed what life was like in Aleppo. This was not war reporting of the type to which we are accustomed, but a series of diverse prose pieces full of black humour that were read avidly in the Arab world.
