Urban artspace Manufacture 111 has found its niche in booking rappers who had some buzz in the early 1990s and giving them a podium once more. After concerts by Afu-Ra and Onyx they’re now bringing Big Shug to Brussels.

Though the Bostonian lived a couple hundred miles north of New York, the hotbed of East Coast hip hop, Shug was nonetheless a key figure in the scene. Working on NY hardcore rappers Gang Starr’s 1994 album Hard to Earn, he also joined the collective that grew around the duo. Big Shug is bringing his buddies Jeru the Damaja and Group Home from that Gang Starr Foundation along for the ride to Ixelles.
