The small but brave Brussels-based record label Vlek Records has joined forces with bepotel to organise a laidback party at Recyclart marking the release of their new EP Kikkerkelik, the fourteenth release from the young Vlek label. Bepotel is formed by SagaT, &apos, and Walrus, three musicians/designers who, for some time now, have been using drum computers and retro synths to make futuristic soundscapes that explore the boundaries of the danceable. Bepotel and Vlek are also inviting a big group of other artists and DJs. Top of the bill is the Hamburg-based Helena Hauff, one of the resident DJs of the renowned Golden Pudel Club. She debuted this year on Actress’s label Werkdiscs/Ninja Tune with the great EP Actio Reactio, and is promising to play a fiery mix of acid and coarse techno and electro at Recyclart.
Terekke is also flying in from Brooklyn for a live set. For the past few months, he’s been a popular guest at the slightly artier parties there. This young man stands for lo-tempo: his music is danceable but introverted, aquatic, and dreamy. Ssaliva – AKA Cupp Cave – is a native of Liège, and one of Vlek Records’s faithful devotees. He will perform a live set, a sound somewhere between dub and new classical, peppered with soft, caressing rhythms.

VLEK X BEPOTEL RELEASE NIGHT 16/11, 22.00, €8/10, Recyclart, Station Brussel-Kapellekerk/Gare Bruxelles-Chapelle, Ursulinenstraat 25 rue des Ursulines, Brussel/Bruxelles, 02-502.57.34, www.recyclart.be
