1608 Rhye

Five years after the album debut Woman, Rhye has finished the follow-up, Blood.

In the meantime, the bedroom project of two producers has become a live band around one central lynchpin. Robin Hannibal left the Los Angeles-based tandem in 2017, so only Michael Milosh remains. He has stayed in the waters of minimal, R&B-simmering electronica of colleagues like James Blake, Sohn, and How To Dress Well.

The difference is his sensual, whispered delivery and a handful of discrete and hypnotic compositions, which can recreate the intimate setting of the record even more onstage now that they have been recorded live in the studio.
