Tutu Puoane

Unfortunately, the current socio-political climate has made protest and protest songs indispensable again. What’s more, Martin Luther King was murdered fifty years ago, and South African singer Tutu Puoane does not want to let the anniversary go unnoticed.

Just like in her tribute to Miriam Makeba and Billie Holiday, she is collaborating with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra.

Together, they have composed their own musical pamphlet, with songs about discrimination and injustice written by Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, Sting, Marvin Gaye, and others.
