The Polish hip-hop boom continues unabated, and now has many different offshoots. Just look at the first edition of the Polski Rap Festival Bruksela.

Its seeds were only planted in 1994, however, when two brothers, Michał and Marcin Marten, founded the legendary collective Kaliber 44 in Katowice, influenced by American gangsta rap. Along with Piotr Łuszcz, aka Magik, whose personal rhymes added depth, flow, and mythology, they developed a very personal style.

They are coming to Belgium for the first time, but Magik will not be coming with them. In 2000, he committed suicide by jumping out of the window of his apartment. The remaining members made a new album last year, which they are now coming to present at a festival that will also feature Hades, WSRH, Donguralesko, and Joe Kickass.
