The Opus events are becoming more and more popular with every edition. Which undoubtedly has something to do with the nature of the parties: Opus is not just about music, but is also about technology. It brings the virtual world that bit closer to our everyday reality by inviting people and organisations from the sector and allowing them to show what they have to offer. The guests at Friday’s edition will be BetaGroup, which organises regular events attended by web and ICT entrepreneurs from Belgium and neighbouring countries. The events offer opportunities for young start-ups to make brief presentations of their ideas and to make valuable contacts. Not surprisingly, this particular edition will be entirely devoted to music. New sites and apps and other music-related Internet marvels will be presented from 6 pm on. So where does the party bit come in, we hear the party animal in you wondering? Well, that looks pretty impressive too. Daniel Bell was one of the driving forces of Detroit techno in the 1990s. That generation of clubbers surely still has “Losing Control”, released under his pseudonym DBX, ringing in its heads. There will also be exciting house music from the Motor City Drum Ensemble. We haven’t heard more exciting sets and releases in years than those of this German, who will be doing his stuff in the second room, which will be entirely given over to the Deep In House concept. In addition, there will be a live act from the Berlin-based American Bruno Pronsato and there will also be lots of DJs, VJs, and works of art to enjoy.

Opus VI invites BetaGroup & Deep In House 21/6, 18.00, €12, Brussels Event Brewery, Delaunoystraat 58, Molenbeek, www.weareopus.com
