This week, we’re heading to the woods. Not for a Sunday picnic or an adventurous hike, but to go clubbing: for several years the Ter Kamerenbos/Bois de la Cambre has been home to a disco called The Wood. You know what you’re getting at this club surrounded by trees, but it’s impossible to predict when the party will be over. Three nights per week, local DJs and international guests pump steaming tech-house, electro, deep house, and minimal techno through the speakers. One of the permanent house guests is Electronical Reeds, the Brussels record label that represents artists like Pole Folder, Felix Cage, Souldust, Exon Bacon, and Superdrums. On Friday, they are bringing Shades of Gray to the club for a live set. The Czech/Australian duo is currently touring with its second album, Unlock the Rhythm.
They are hailed by the specialised dance media for their penetrating and melodious deep-house tracks that have been released on record labels like Lost My Dog (run by the London-based DJ/producer Pete Dafeet), OM Records (Mark Farina, Kaskade, Miguel Migs...), and their very own Beef Records. The album will certainly not disappoint the dancers. It is aimed squarely at the dance floor and we can already guarantee that there is no way you will be able to keep off it this Friday. The party is being rounded out by the Brussels-based The Checkup and Souldust. You’re a slave to the rhythm? Yes please!
