The British poet and performer Sukina Douglas is one half of the British spoken word and hip-hop duo Poetic Pilgrimage. That partnership recently brought her to the KVS, where she later also appeared as an actress in Malcolm X.
Sukina Douglas & Kristin Rogghe: Afropean? Human Being!
Along with the Belgian filmmaker, video artist, and writer Kristin Rogghe, Douglas is now closing the KVS season with the try-out of her first play. Afropean // Human Being is a theatre piece about a young woman who learns her life lessons not at university but in the slam poetry scene and who thus becomes an activist with a biting pen.
