Judging by Eran Kolirin’s family portrait, things aren’t going too well with the Israelis.
After his military career, the father can’t find his way in a society obsessed with money and success. The mother falls for one of her pupils. The son is plotting revenge and the daughter is a strident activist. The actors are impeccable, the cameraman works his magic from time to time, but this film isn’t upbeat enough and the fact that Kolirin is actually commenting on his homeland is far from subtle. Well-meaning, but rather dry.
