There is no doubt that Chez nous is relevant, but that doesn't make it a great or incisive film.

Lucas Belvaux will always be more of a man of ideas than an exceptional director. In this film, a glimpse behind the scenes of the fictitious far-right party RNP, he again raises interesting social issues, but he has not managed to hide the threads that bind the script together or create as much tension as he could have.

In contrast to Le Pen, Chez nous appeals primarily to the intellect.
