Still going on this weekend at Thurn/Tour & Taxis is the Affordable Art Fair. A fair where original painting, prints, sculptures, and photography are offered at - the name says it all - affordable prices ranging from €50 to €5,000. Not only focusing on already launched and well-known artists, the Affordable Art Fair also gives the opportunity to young, promising artists to emerge from the dark by showing the public what they have to offer. The fair has, since its success in the UK, become a global phenomenon, selling works of art for a total amount of over €185,000,000, and receiving more than one million visitors worldwide. 90 galleries from primarily Europe, but also the USA and Australia will be presenting works from over 500 artists. There’s the opportunity of participating in free workshops, organized by Le Centre de la Gravure et de l’Image Imprimée de la Louvière, for those who want to explore their creativity. The children have an area of their own between 11 am and 7 pm, where they can learn about art through playing with all sorts of materials and activities. Children under 16 have free access to the fair. Buy your tickets online in advance, it’s cheaper and you avoid queues!
