The buzz of Nigeria's city life

"Dey your lane!" is a phrase the inhabitants of Lagos use to claim a spot in the busy metropolis. It's the same as saying "It's none of your business!"

Buzzing with activity, the city is criss-crossed by super highways. The traffic is deadly and the pollution is suffocating. Extreme wealth and utter poverty live side by side. Lagos is a city of extremes that both vibrates and inspires. The "Dey Your Lane!" exhibition at Bozar masterfully depicts the creativity and dynamism of the Nigerian metropolis. Photos of the last edition of the LagosPhoto festival show the city beyond Afro-pessimism in all its facets. Curator Azu Nwagbogu, who also founded the photo festival, has opted to print the work of the 24 participating artists uniformly and display the pieces as a collage on the wall or distributed in large format freely in the space. It is as though you are walking around the bustling city of Lagos itself.
