A cultural palace, a thought-provoking downtown gallery, a hotel increasingly investing in the promotion of Brussels culture, a true laboratory of digital culture and technology, and the EU, have decided to connect for a fascinating cross-over event.

ICT ART CONNECT 2013 is a three-day event exploring the possibilities of crossings of ICT and art to bring about “new technology-based creative responses to contemporary societal challenges”. Yesterday it was kicked off with a performance at Hotel Bloom. From 9 to 11 November workshops, key notes, installations, and exhibitions at the European Parliament, Bozar, iMAL, and Harlan Levey Projects will tackle the theme from different angles.

While Bozar will be tempting visitors of the Bozar Night to take a closer look at a series of installations and screen data-pieces by – among others – Maurice Benayoun, Futurlab Ars Electronica, Beth Coleman, and Laura Colmenares Guerra & Todor Todoroff, that “underline the relevance of digitally mediated participation in contemporary artistic practices”, Harlan Levey Projects has a particularly attractive set of artists on show. If you want to see what Jordan Seiler, Ermias Kifleyesus, Alexandra Dementieva, and Pilvi Takala are up to with phone booths, doodles, public ads, RSS feeds, human breath, and T-shirts, just head over to the opening at Harlan Levey Projects, tonight at 7 pm. Get connected!!

Public Data Explorer 9/11 > 22/12 (opening: 9/11, 19 > 21.30), do/jeTh > zo/di/Su 13 > 19.00 & by appointment, Harlan Levey Projects, rue Léon Lepagestraat 37, Brussel/Bruxelles, www.hl-projects.com
