On 14 April 1912, the ocean liner Titanic, which was thought to be unsinkable, slammed into an iceberg. Two hours and forty minutes later, the huge boat sank to the bottom of the ocean, taking 1,552 of its passengers down with it. Fascination for the Titanic’s fatal journey has been unremitting ever since. One hundred years after the disaster, the international exhibition “Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition” was launched, and it is now stopping in Brussels. The personal stories of individual passengers are told using artifacts that have been saved from the wreck, 3,800 metres deep: perfume bottles, porcelain bearing the logo of the White Star Line, etc. You will also discover more about the fates of the 27 Belgians on board. Why did they go aboard the ocean steamer? What were their dreams? And which of them survived the tragic night?
