After ventures in the punk rock scene of 1980s Akron, Ohio (in Punk Rock & Trailer Parks), and the story of his teenage friend Jeffrey Dahmer who turned into a serial killer (My Friend Dahmer), American comic book artist Derf Backderf returns with an ode to the crap job of all crap jobs. Like most of his stories, this one also starts from a personal experience: in 1979 and 1980, Backderf himself was a garbage man. Trashed is a wonderfully ambitious, beautifully drawn, and funny story about his dealings with the seasons, bureaucracy, and the raunchy habits of the townsfolk, but also a mind-boggling look into the vast amount of stuff we put out on our curb every week.
