In 2011, the literary centre Passa Porta launched the international competition Brussels in Shorts, in which comic strip authors were given the opportunity to make a graphic short story about contemporary Brussels. The multilingual result was published by Oogachtend as Bruss. Brussels in shorts, and is now being repeated by popular demand.

This time, the assignment is as follows: write a graphic short story of 12 pages in which at least one of the characters is staying at an existing hotel in Brussels. Candidates must register by 20 November via www.passaporta.be/brusselsinshorts. A professional jury will announce the winners in December, and they will then – with financial support and accommodation in the centre of the city – have until the end of June 2014 to submit their work. The publication of the new album is planned in autumn 2014.
