Today, Salman Rushdie's new book, Joseph Anton, is being released all over the world. "Joseph Anton" is a combination of the names of two of Rushdie's favourite authors, Joseph Conrad and Anton Tsjechov. A pseudonym he thought about when faced with his forced isolation after his fourth novel, The Satanic Verses (1988), became the centre of controversy, provoking even a fatwa by Ayatollah Khomeini. Bozar has persuaded the British Indian writer to bring them a visit. On 13 November, Rushdie will be talking about his autobiography and his life after the fatwa.
