Julius Knipl: Real Estate Photographer, The Jew of New York, Hand-Drying in America... The American comic strip artist Ben Katchor is one of the most sharp-witted, imaginative, and funny yet sharp graphic storytellers around. On the occasion of the recent French translation of his graphic novel "The Cardboard Valise", ESA Saint-Luc Bruxelles and book shop Tropismes have invited Katchor for an illustrated lecture on nation building in Outer Canthus. Don't worry, you'll survive the trip: Outer Canthus has got some superb sights for you to enjoy, including ancient restroom ruins, humane hamburger stands, finger-licking paper factory workers with a paper cut fetish, exquisite cardboard valises that can fit the contents of your house, and so much more. Emile Delilah (a young xenophile), Boreal Rince (the exiled king of Outer Canthus), and Elijah Salamis (a supranationalist determined to erase the cultural and geographic boundaries that separate the citizens of the Earth) will be your guides through the history and pathologies associated with the concept of "nationalism". Enjoy!

13/6, 20.00, ESA Saint-Luc Bruxelles - Auditorium IIII, Ierlandstraat 58 rue d'Irlande, Sint-Gillis/Saint-Gilles
