When temperatures rise, we turn up the volume. This summer, BRUZZ DJs will play records across Brussels, each Friday at a different location. It's BRUZZ Open Air: the new after-work concept to beat the heat and keep up with the good vibes. Discover who'll make you dance, week after week. On August 23d, the closing party with Groove Travellerz at Guinguette André.
Groove Travellerz in 5 questions:
- Favorite place in Brussels
No favorite place, just in love with the city itself. We enjoy hopping between places and, although we are based in Brussels, we still keep discovering.
- What song will you NEVER play?
Not a specific song, but style. No dance, trance, trap, R'n'B (that's not Rhythm and Blues) and EDM.
- What do you easily spend too much money on?
Very simple, Records. Even though we still have a lot to discover...
- App on your phone you can't live without
All Google apps (translate, maps and so on). Though the apps I like the most are: Discogs, Mixcloud and WhoSampled.
- Which DJ would you like to do a back-to-back or DJ-battle with?
No preferred Dj. As long as the person is goodhearted, honest, open and, OK, with a decent taste for music...we are in!
Who are the Groove Travellerz?
Put two vinyls aficionados in a bar in Brussels and you'll have the Groove Travellerz, or simply, DJ Wah and Greg L. Previously based in Sydney, Egyptian-born DJ Wah started spinning records in 2003, before touring across continents and finding a second home in Belgium, where he met his partner in crime Greg L. Brusseleir by birth and spirit, Greg has been obsessed with music since he started playing the violin at the age of 5: vinyls came later and it was love at first sight. You can catch them on BRUZZ Radio, every Sunday at 8 p.m, for rare and groovy sounds from the 60's and 70's.
