The majority of violent attacks towards members of the LGBTQI community that were officially reported last year were cases of street violence. This is more than reason enough for the Rainbow House to make this issue the central theme of the Pride Festival. In the run-up to the colourful parade on 16 May, this year the festival is again organising two full weeks of debates, workshops (including the self-portrait workshop Mauvaises Images, photo), concerts, films (featuring Romy Schneider, among others), and exhibitions. The eye catcher of this edition will undoubtedly be the launch of the All Genders Welcome campaign on 2 May, for which Brussels police officers and municipal workers posed holding hands or hugging.
