If Beyoncé can do it, anyone can, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker must have thought when she got word of the American superstar's music video "Countdown". That clip was clearly inspired on the famous and highly influential choreography Rosas danst Rosas, which Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, together with Michèle Anne De Mey, Fumiyo Ikeda, and Nadine Ganase presented 30 years ago as a world premiere at the fourth Kaaitheater Festival. To celebrate that anniversary, the classic is being reprised four times at the Kaaitheater, two of which featuring Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker as one of the four dancers. But there's more. A few months ago, together with fABULEUS, Rosas and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker launched a challenge. People were invited to dance their own Rosas danst Rosas and send in their videos. From tonight 8 October, and until 12 October, all videos are being screened at the Kaaitheater as part of an enormous video wall. DIY: dance it yourself!
