Film: Le Fidèle

We might dispute the qualities of the melodramatic plot twist, the tripartite structure, the changing tone, and the fantasy aspects of Le fidèle, but the film is unquestionably a beautifully shot cinephile trip that shows Brussels off to its best advantage.

Matthias Schoenaerts and Adèle Exarchopoulos play a couple who get badly burned by their crazy love and their fateful lives. He is a Brussels gangster, she a race car driver with the same urge to live fast and intensely. This can’t end well.
