Asking whether Parasite whets your appetite for more is just plain silly. Of course the Golden Palm winner by Bong Joon-ho makes you want to see more brilliant Korean films. And fortunately, that hunger can easily be sated because the Korean Cultural Centre is devoting its seventh Korean Film Festival to the hundredth anniversary of Korean film. There is something for everyone. Seopyeonje is a classic about an old musician who blinds his daughter so that she will become a better musician. The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil (photo), by contrast, is an incredibly violent action thriller. Parasite was no fluke. South Korea deserved to win that Golden Palm long ago.
