New releases 30/5

This looks like a good week to head off to the cinemas to go check out the new releases. We were least impressed by Cronenberg's film adaptation of Don DeLillo's Cosmopolis (too much talking by Wall Street vampire Robert Pattinson), and fell head over heels in love with Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom. And then there are still the excellent À perdre la raison by Joachim Lafosse, Ridley Scott's return to science-fiction, and Asghar Farhadi's fireworks!

NL | Dapper, wars van sensatie en met de hulp van acteurs in bloedvorm trotseert de Brusselse regisseur het ondenkbare: hoe komt een moeder ertoe haar kinderen te doden. Zeer sterke film.
FR | Audacieux, hostile au sensationnel et avec l’aide d’acteurs en forme olympique, le réalisateur bruxellois se confronte à l’impensable : comment une mère en arrive à tuer ses enfants. Très fort.

NL | Deze zes jaar oude film van Farhadi ontsluiert een huwelijk in modern Teheran. Doet nauwelijks onder voor zijn recente prijsbeesten: About Elly en A separation.
FR | Ce film vieux de six ans signé Asghar Farhadi met un mariage à nu dans le Téhéran d’aujourd’hui. À peine moins brillant que ses récents films aux multiples récompenses : À propos d’Elly et Une séparation.
