The Offscreen Film Festival, your annual rendezvous with everything independent, offbeat, or cult in the film sector, has just announced that for its sixth edition (6 > 24 March) the red carpet will be rolled out for John Waters. Waters, also known as the Sultan of Sleaze, the Prince of Puke, and the Pope of Trash, will be honoured with a retrospective of all his films, from Pink Flamingos (1972) to A Dirty Shame (2004). The guest of honour with the pencil-thin moustache will be onstage himself on 9 March at the Centre for Fine Arts with a one-man show, This Filthy World, in which, in his own inimitable way, he looks back at his early days as a trash film-maker in Baltimore. His performance will be followed by a special screening of his film Polyester in Odorama, with the famous scratch-and-sniff cards!
