Todos Lo Saben

Double Oscar winner Asghar Farhadi seems to lose something of his magic when he makes films outside of his homeland Iran, but the Spanish Todos lo saben/ Everybody Knows is still a well-made drama.

A young girl gets kidnapped at a wedding in a Spanish wine village. The search and the attempt to get the ransom money together cause enormous tension in the village. Family secrets are exposed, old hatchets get dug up, the backbiting is incessant. The past is never really gone.
