Chic feat. Nile Rodgers at Couleur Café

There was always the hidden hand of an ingenious producer (and shrewd career planner) behind the sensual ladies on the 1970s record covers by Chic.

Along with the late bassist and his partner-in-crime Bernard Edwards, Nile Rodgers not only developed a funky sound that would continue to resonate years later in irresistible disco classics, but with his producer's skill he always managed to combine groove with the zeitgeist. Check the oeuvre of David Bowie, Madonna, Duran Duran, and Daft Punk. Even now, the stars are still queuing up with The Hitmaker — the much-deserved nickname of this master of the disco guitar lick — who has recruited artists like Lady Gaga for his new Chic album It's About Time. But before it is released, he and his inseparable Fender Stratocaster, dreads, and enormous smile are coming to party at Couleur Café.
