Are you among the faithful audience of Midis-Minimes? Until the end of August, you can attend a very cheap lunchtime concert every weekday. The programme is very ambitious.

Just take the closing concert of the piano week (17 > 22/8) for example: the much-celebrated Luxemburg artist CATHY KRIER will perform music by Ligeti and Rameau. On the other hand, if you prefer to listen to classical music on historical instruments, don’t miss the recital by the young Frenchman JEAN RONDEAU. With Bach’s Italian Concerto and famous Chaconne, he has chosen music that perfectly matches energetic and communicative harpsichord playing (12/8). And yes, lute player THOMAS DUNFORD is also on the programme. This very young Englishman is absolutely incredible. Along with the equally refined mezzo-soprano ANNA REINHOLD, he will perform seventeenth-century love songs (11/8). This repertoire dovetails beautifully with the concert on 25/8. In the faithful company of lute player SOFIE VANDEN EYNDE and others, soprano Lore Binon will sing music by Giulio Caccini. For hyper romantic souls, we recommend the concert with cellist SÉBASTIEN WALNIER and pianist ALEXANDER GURNING. It is quite wonderful that they have chosen to perform cello music by Richard Strauss that is otherwise almost never played (13/8). The cello also takes centre stage in the final concert of Midis-Minimes. The eight cellists of Ô-CELLI will bring the summer to a festive and swinging close with music by Strauss and Piazzolla, among others.
