(El Fata)

The On the Dub Again parties get more popular with every new edition. As the name indicates, the whole event focuses on dub music, a genre that developed from reggae in the 1960s. After parties in the Belle-Vue Brasserie and Magic Mirrors, two halls that have since closed, they are moving to Black Buddah in Haren for the second time. And they are again inviting great names in the scene. Webcam Hi-Fi is a project by Fredread. Since 2004, he has been making riddims (instrumental songs) for singers like Kenny Knots, Earl Sixteen, Anthony John, and other stars of the dubby world. Musically, he is akin to the Jamaican style, and yet his music is best known for its dynamic and organic sound. He creates his own concoction with a robust rhythm section, skanking guitars, horns, and flutes. He will be assisted by El Fata, an MC who already has an impressive track record. Digitron is another notable guest. They describe themselves as “the first Croatian dub sound established in 2007”. Be that as it may, they have long since been spreading their good vibes outside Croatia, and now perform across Europe. Using their own sound system, they go on quite a spree, playing their own exclusive dub records. The line-up is completed with two acts from Brussels: Gamma Sound and Reservoir Dub. Both are highly respected and cherished in the capital. We will dub again, for sure.
