Party Tip: Libertine Supersport

In 2010, David Dewaele, a member of the Belgian band Soulwax and one of the 2manydjs, presented a minute-long argument on DJ magazine Mixmag’s YouTube channel about why Erol Alkan deserves the title “Greatest DJ of All Time”. Apparently it didn’t help much because the honour was conferred on Tiësto, despite the many truths in what David had said. Alkan is someone who hones his craft with an enormous love of music. Just like all great DJs nowadays, he performs on mega stages. In November, for example, he appeared at the enormous indoor event 
I Love Techno. But he has managed never to become a caricature of himself. In our opinion, that is because he still approaches his audiences very humbly. Alkan does not deliver regurgitated sets. To him, each and every performance is a challenge, and he can often sound quite eclectic as a result. Of course, you wouldn’t expect any less from the man who once founded the London Trash club and revitalised forgotten old disco records with his Disco 3000 disguise. What’s more, in collaboration with Boys Noize, he set off a couple of unforgettable electro bombs that made every hair on our bodies stand on end. That is why Erol Alkan is a popular guest at the Libertine Supersport parties.

Daniel Avery, on the other hand, might be relatively new, but he is still someone everyone wants to have at their parties at the moment. His hypnotising house and techno productions are sustenance both for the new generation of clubbers and the old crew. He was in Brussels not so long ago, and fortunately he is returning soon!
