WRaP!: Endless
WRaP! is an abbreviated combination of Wiernik, Rassinfosse, and Pierre. The singer Barbara Wiernik has previously released a few idiosyncratic CDs on the borderlines of jazz, easy-listening pop, and poetry, with Joni Mitchell as a source of inspiration.

Endless jazz (Igloo)
The guitarist Alain Pierre is mainly active in intimate groups operating somewhere between jazz and folk; his great model is Ralph Towner. The bassist Jean-Louis Rassinfosse has played with the greats, from Chet Baker to Toots Thielemans – and is also one of the mainstays of the poetic jazz trio L’Âme des Poètes. In WRaP!, we find the same acoustic approach: the pure magic of sparse notes lucidly placed at just the right moment. What is most striking is that this is not about a singer with two accompanists, but is actually about three instrumentalists: Wiernik uses her voice to help establish the atmosphere and add colour. A subtle piece of work that should appeal both to fans of the chansonnière Barbara and of Youn Sun-nah.
