The Brussels Academy
The Brussels Academy is an urban and citizen university. It is the meeting point for everyone who is interested in Brussels and wants to know more about the city. In this context, a number of professors and urban experts share their knowledge of Brussels with civil society. In order to achieve this, a wide range of activities are organiqed: courses, seminars, tours and visits, master classes, conferences and more. Interested? Guillaume Bottazzi: Mural Painter with a Healing Touch
French mural painter Guillaume Bottazzi is bringing his art to Etterbeek's Place Jourdan in a big way: a 7 meter wide by 16 meter tall mural which he is painting entirely by himself. He is inviting everyone to come down and watch him at work. And, in two months when the mural is complete we will be able to enjoy its anxiety-lowering effects "akin to dopamine." The renovations scheduled for the Place Jourdan will be colour-coordinated with the mural.
Pianist Reed Tetzloff's Belgium tour
American pianist Reed Tetzloff is a rising star in the world of classical music. Aged just 24, he has already won multiple competitions and played to audiences from Cincinnati to Beijing. As part of a Belgian tour also encompassing Antwerp, Ghent and Waterloo, Tetzloff will perform six pieces by famous artists, such as Cézar Franck, Franz Liszt, Charles Griffes and Nikolai Kapustin at Flagey on 10 November.
BLOC - A Christmas Carol
BLOC, the Brussels Light Opera Company, present their festive performance, A Christmas Carol, based on the classic Charles Dickens tale at Auderghem Cultural Centre from 24-27 November. We went along to a rehearsal to speak to cast and crew.
