Graffiti adept and artist Parole has been etching irresistibly mysterious grooves into the city’s rough skin for years.

He is now taking his art nouveau- and arabesque-inspired calligraphic alphabet underground, and specifically into the waste water collector on Bergensesteenweg/chaussée de Mons. He is connecting the ephemeral, repressed nature of graffiti with the stories and experiences of the sewer workers and the traces of life in the bowels of the city that are constantly washed away. At set times, he will re-emerge to make his paintings continue to evolve. The first occasion is on 25 May at 1 pm, on a boat floating on the Zenne/Senne.
