The intersection where traditional Turkish music and Western psychedelia meet, has always been an exceptionally exciting place.

That became very clear once again during the riveting show by folk heroine and protest singer Selda Bagcan at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels two weeks ago. In 1972, this same Selda recorded a single with Mogollar, the pioneers of Anatolian psych-rock who shortly before had collaborated with that other pivotal figure in the scene, Baris Manco. Mogollar, born during the Summer of Love in 1967, is now coming to Sazz’n Jazz with two original members. There is no better place to let their sazz blare.
