Living in Brussels: should Brussels invest in a general rent allowance?

Rents in Brussels are high. For low-income residents, it can be difficult to find affordable housing. And that's even more true for landing a social housing unit. Hence the proposal to give people who have been on a social housing waiting list for years a rent allowance. Such an allowance should allow them to find housing on the private market.
